The Kuhn Rikon HOTPAN is engineered to cook efficiently on the stovetop and continue cooking off the heat using its insulated thermal bowl. This soft-cooking method reduces energy use while helping preserve texture, flavor, and nutrients. Once removed from the burner, the HOTPAN maintains temperature and can keep food hot for up to two hours, supporting flexible meal timing without reheating. The stainless steel cooking pot delivers reliable heat distribution and durability for everyday use, while the insulated outer bowl is designed to lock in warmth and enable extended heat retention. Together, they create a versatile system suited for simmering, steaming, braising, slow-finishing, and holding dishes at serving temperature. To ensure proper use, the insulated thermal bowl should never be placed on the stovetop, and the cooking pot should never be heated while empty. The insulating bowl is not designed to hold hot liquids on its own and must always be used in combination with the stainless steel cooking pot.
