The 5L-M Metal / Medium Flex Edge Beater Blade is compatible with the KitchenAid 5-Quart Bowl-Lift mixer (the older models, not the new 5 Plus—that ones needs our large beater blade). It is not to be used on any other manufacturer’s brand of mixers or other KitchenAid mixer sizes. KitchenAid does not make this size model of stand mixer any longer—our medium, 5L-M is for the older models. To order correct size, simply measure the diameter of your stand mixer bowl---if it measures between 8 and 8.5-inches, the Medium size Beater Blade (5L-M for metal and KA-5L for our plastic model) is the correct size for your mixer. This mixer features a narrower lift bowl and the walls are more vertical. This mixer is popular at restaurants and bakeries due to its power and the bowl shape. This is NOT for the Professional 5-Plus mixers (commonly sold at Costco & Sam’s club), 5 Quart glass bowls or Tilt-Head mixers we have other Flex Edge Beater Blade sizes for those mixers.
