The 1200D ripstop nylon outer shell is heavier and more abrasion-resistant than standard 600D or 1000D fabrics, making it a practical choice for horses turned out in larger fields, alongside other horses, or in paddocks with post-and-rail or wire fencing where rug damage is more likely. The waterproof finish seals the outer shell against rain and wind, while the smooth breathable lining prevents heat build-up inside the rug.
